Apple’s artificial intelligence advancements, particularly with the introduction of features in recent macOS versions, are pushing the boundaries of what older systems can handle. Here are some key reasons why the older Mac operating systems can’t handle Apple Intelligence AI to run the new AI you will need an iPhone, iPad, or Mac that can run IOS18, IPADIOS18, or Mac OS 15 Sequoia.

Here is a list of compatible devices

· iPhone 15 Pro Max

· 5th-gen M1 iPad Air (2022)

· 6th-gen M2 iPad Air (2024)

· 5th-gen M1 iPad Pro (2021)

· 6th-gen M2 iPad Pro (2022)

· 7th-gen M4 iPad Pro (2024)

· M1 MacBook Air (2020)

· M2 MacBook Air (2022)

· M2 MacBook Air (2023)

· M3 MacBook Air (2024)

· 13-inch Touch Bar M1 MacBook Pro (2020)

· 14-inch and 16-inch M1 MacBook Pro (2021)

· 14-inch and 16-inch M2 MacBook Pro (2023)

· M1 iMac (2021)

· M3 iMac (2023)

· M1 Mac mini (2020)

· M2 Mac mini (2023)

· M1 Mac Studio (2022)

· M2 Mac Studio (2023)

· M2 Mac Pro (2023)

1.       Hardware Compatibility-

Older Mac lack the necessary hardware to support advanced AI operations. Apple’s latest AI features leverage dedicated hardware like the Neural Engine, first introduced in newer models, which is absent in older MacBooks, iMacs, and iPhones. It now looks like any Intel chip won’t be compatible or any model before 2020.  So you will need an A17 chip for iPhone or an M1 chip upwards for Mac.

2. Performance Limitations

AI-driven tasks demand significant processing power and memory. Older systems, designed with the technology available at the time, simply can’t efficiently run these intensive tasks, leading to potential slowdowns or system crashes.

3. Software Optimisation

Modern AI is built to take advantage of the latest macOS optimisations and frameworks. Older operating systems don’t support these new frameworks, making it challenging, if not impossible, to run new AI applications effectively. Of course, you can always use the online alternative that uses your browser as a bridge rather than an internal app.

4. Security Concerns

With advancements in AI, there are also heightened security protocols to protect data and privacy. Older macOS versions may not meet the stringent security requirements needed to safely operate advanced AI features.

5. Integration with Other Services

Apple’s AI capabilities often integrate with other modern services like iCloud, Siri, and various third-party apps. These integrations rely on up-to-date APIs and services that are not fully compatible with outdated operating systems.

While older Macs, iPhones, and iPads are still capable of performing many tasks, they fall short when it comes to handling the demands of modern AI. Investing in newer hardware and keeping the operating system updated is essential for users wanting to leverage Apple’s latest AI advancements. For those using older systems, it might be time to consider using the alternative browser-based AI systems which are very powerful alternatives, and use connecting to an advanced framework through your product’s browser rather than utilising hardware.

The landscape of personal Apple computing has dramatically transformed over the past decade. Once dominated by desktop Apple computers, the industry has seen a significant shift towards more portable devices such as MacBooks, iPads, and iPhones. This change is driven by advancements in processor technology, increasing mobility needs, and evolving user preferences.

Why the Shift?

1. Portability: Modern lifestyles demand mobility. Portable devices allow users to work, learn, and entertain themselves from anywhere. The convenience of carrying a MacBook, iPad, or iPhone instead of being tethered to a desk is a significant advantage. After all even 15 years ago a MacBook could be quite bulky and before 2010 the iPad didn’t exist the iPhone was invented in 2007 so the the advance has been high-speed and recent.

2. Advances in Mac Technology: Innovations in hardware and software have made portable devices more powerful and efficient. Modern MacBooks and iPads can handle tasks that once required a desktop, from complex computing to high-end gaming and graphic design. Lower voltage processors that don’t require huge fans and low-profile SSD storage that doesn’t require spinning disks have made it easier to make thin-light devices.

3. Cloud Computing: The rise of cloud services means that data and applications can be accessed from anywhere, reducing the need for a powerful, stationary computer. Users can store files, run applications, and collaborate online, making portability more practical and desirable. In theory, you could run your whole storage apart from the operating system in the cloud.

4. Ergonomics and Design: MacBooks, iPads, and iPhones have become more ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing. Slim, lightweight designs coupled with high-resolution displays and longer battery life make these devices appealing for both personal and professional use. As processors have become less power hungry battery life has extended hugely.

5. Work From Home and Hybrid Work Models: The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of portable devices as remote and hybrid work models became the norm. Employees needed reliable, mobile solutions to stay productive outside traditional office environments. There is less need to be present in potentially a city center office when you can be just as productive in the home environment.

The Rise of MacBooks, iPads, and iPhones

– MacBooks: Offering the power of a desktop with the convenience of portability, laptops have become essential for students, professionals, and casual users alike. High-performance models cater to gamers, designers, and developers, while MacBook Airs ultra-portable versions are perfect for travelers and remote workers.

– iPads: Tablets bridge the gap between smartphones and laptops. They are ideal for media consumption, digital art, and light computing tasks. With accessories like detachable keyboards and stylus pens, tablets are versatile tools for both work and play.

– iPhones: As the most portable of all devices, smartphones have revolutionised how we communicate, access information, and manage daily tasks. With powerful processors and extensive Apple app ecosystems, they serve as mini-computers in our pockets.

Impact on iMac and Mac Pro Desktop computers

While desktop Macs are still preferred for certain applications like high-end gaming, video editing, and complex computational tasks, their market share has declined. Businesses and educational institutions are increasingly providing laptops and tablets to employees and students, reflecting the shift towards mobility. They can be loaded with a lot more ram and onboard storage, however, they are tending now to be used for more power-hungry workloads that can’t be handled by even the most powerful MacBooks.

To sum up.

The transition from desktop Mac to portable devices represents a significant evolution in personal Apple computing. As technology continues to advance, the trend toward portability is expected to grow, further shaping how we work, learn, and interact with the Apple ecosystem

Have you been thinking about upgrading to the iPhone 8 from your current iPhone or Android? You might want to check out this review of the iPhone 8. It can help make your decision a little easier.

iPhone 8 Review

The Display

This is the part of the iPhone 8 that everyone wants to know about. There is hardware-level support for a 10-bit HEVC with a brightness level that goes up to 625 nits. The iPhone 8 has an amazing feature called True Tone that will blow your mind. True Tone has a sensor that adjusts your phone’s display so that white looks paper white no matter what your settings around you look like. It works all the time, no matter what you’re doing on your iPhone 8, so you can read, watch movies, browse the Internet, interact on social media — whatever. It’s going to look amazing no matter what. If you’ve never experienced it, you will be amazed once you try it. And once you try it, you’ll never want to go back to anything else!

New Glass

Something that might not seem to be all that important at first is the glass on your phone. The iPhone 8 has a new glass that supports all the iPhone 8 is offering. It’s a collaboration between Apple and Corning which allowed both companies to have the chance to work together and create an extremely durable glass. The goal was for the iPhone 8 to have glass that is more shatter and crack resistant than ever before. Most of us find that our iPhone finds its way to the floor at one time or another. Apple is hoping that the iPhone 8 will not have as many screens break due to users dropping their phones.

The iPhone 8 comes in three finishes — silver, space grey, and gold. There is a seven-layer colour process that makes the iPhone 8 the way it is. This is what gives the colour the depth and ability to be opaque. The glass is sealed microscopically to protect the inside from liquids that could cause serious damage.

Of course, you can always get Apple Care. With a phone that costs as much as an iPhone 8, you should consider getting Apple Care to protect against some of the common issues that might happen with your iPhone for a couple of years. By the time your Apple Care plan ends you’ll probably be ready for a new iPhone anyway!

Wireless Charging

wireless charge iphone 8 Apple has included a pretty nifty feature in the iPhone 8: wireless charging. It offers the convenience of not having to worry about having a cord with you all the time when your phone needs to be charged. Those cords just get in the way anyway. Am I right? With the iPhone 8 you can just place your iPhone on the charging pad and voila, your phone will start charging.

The wireless charging might not be as fast as traditional charging (or as efficient), but it offers a major convenience factor. Consider, though, that this is a new technology. Apple wants their products to be the best at everything, so they will likely be improving upon this technology to make it even better.

You’ve got to admit that wireless charging is awesome. And eventually this could lead to short distance charging where your phone might be able to charge so long as it is close to a charger. Imagine your phone charging while it’s in your pocket! There are so many possibilities that this technology could make happen in the near future.

iPhone 8 Cameras

What is an iPhone 8 review article without mention of the cameras? Many people will upgrade their iPhone year after year just for the cameras, so we have to mention those. The camera has a brand-new sensor. The pixels have improved accuracy and the camera pulls in more light, allowing you to capture your images right away. Everyone has had the perfect photo slip away from them because their camera took too long to take a picture. The iPhone 8’s camera tries to stop that from happening.

There is also optical image stabilization in the iPhone 8. Apple’s goal with the iPhone 8 is to give everyone a camera that is easy to use and is ready as soon as you pull it out. There’s so much information about the iPhone 8 camera that it could be an entire article by itself, so I’ll stop here and say that the camera on the iPhone 8 is simply amazing and makes the phone worth purchasing even without all the other features that you will also love on this phone.

Apps and Accessories

iphone 8 AR The apps for the iPhone 8 are seemingly endless. There are a ton of accessories available too.

Some of the more popular apps out there for the iPhone 8 are those for augmented reality. iPhone 8 makes AR (Augmented reality) easy and provides the best AR experience possible. If you really want to experience AR, the iPhone 8 is the phone to do it with.

Accessories that you’ll want to think about getting for you iPhone 8 are charging pads for car mounts, screen protectors, and ear buds. You can also get fun accessories like fancy cases to show off your new phone as well as protect it. There are so many options out there!

What about the iPhone X?

So the iPhone X is pretty hot right now, too. You might want to consider the iPhone X if you are okay with getting a new iPhone that is way different than iPhones of the past. If you like having a completely new, unfamiliar experience, the iPhone X might be for you. If you don’t mind spending quite a bit more money for the iPhone X, that’s totally your option. In case that you prefer some upgrades but still want an experience that is familiar, you will probably want to upgrade to the iPhone 8.

If you are thinking about getting the new iPhone 8, I’m going to tell you to go ahead and do it. You will be happy you did, because it is all you want and more.

Apple has made an effort to address some of the customer concerns about some of the power management features that the older phones might have. Apple made the pledge to introduce more details with information on the health of iPhone batteries that need to be replaced this year. As always, they want to keep their customers happy. So they are making efforts to address concerns that customers are having with their iPhones from time to time. They reminded that battery replacements should fix iPhone work issues.

Apple apologised for the misinformation that has been spread. It seems that some Apple users think that Apple intentionally caused issues with their older iPhones. They wanted customers to know that they would not intentionally cause an iPhone battery’s life to be shortened or make customers feel that their only option is to upgrade their phone because of a not so great user experience with their older iPhones.

In the iOS 10.2.1, there was a power management feature in both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. This feature was meant to stop shutdowns from happening unexpectedly when there is a high amount of power being used.

Apple Response and Plans

Document

There have been lawsuits recently because some feel that Apple is making older models slower so that users will upgrade to a newer iPhone. To stop any of these rumours from circulating further, Apple released a document to explain the feature in a way that’s easier for customers to understand. The document explains that it’s only natural for an older battery to slow down during peak times of energy load. It goes on to explain that this is especially true when the battery is not charged fully. They say that, of course, unexpected shutdowns are not an acceptable problem for iPhones to face. Nor is it acceptable for users to have calls dropped suddenly or for the camera to malfunction at an important moment. At Apple, they want their users to enjoy using their iPhones as always, without fear of any interruption.

“iPhone Battery and Performance”

Apple’s letter also included a link to an article called, “iPhone Battery and Performance.” The power management features are included in iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and future iPhones are expected to have these features as well. The power management feature will begin working on an iPhone when the battery starts to degrade. The problem can be fixed with a new battery. Apple noted that customers began to issue complaints in the fall of 2017 with issues of slower speed. At first, Apple believed that the issue with slower speeds might be due to updates of software or a bug in iOS 11. Now, however, they believe the issue has to do with batteries that are in some of the older iPhones. Because Apple doesn’t want customers to be overly concerned, they plan on making some changes.

New macbook battery

Plan to Help Customers

Battery Replacements Cost

Previously, the cost for replacement of iPhone batteries for phones that were out of warranty was $79. Now Apple offers cheaper battery replacements. That price has been dropped drastically to just $29. This change is scheduled to go into effect in late January of this year and will last until December of this year. There is supposed to be more information about this price drop in the future. It will apply for all iPhone owners who have the iPhone 6 or later with a need for a battery replacement.

iOS Update

Another plan that Apple is working on is an iOS update. Sometime in the beginning of 2018, Apple plans to put out an iOS update that will give users some new features. So they will be able to see more about the health of their iPhone’s battery. This will allow them to figure out if it is the battery that might be influencing any slow-downs in service of their iPhone. It will allow users to use the process of elimination when determining if the battery is a problem, or if there is some other issue. Of course, not all iPhone 6 phones will have this problem. Apple is also having teams work on ways they can improve the user experience even more. They want to find ways to improve how their phone’s performance is managed in order to avoid the unexpected shutdowns that might happen when batteries start to age.

There are constantly rumours being circulated when there is a brand new iPhone coming out in the near horizon, and this time is no different. There is a new iPhone 8 slated to be released and that has everyone’s attention- even though the iPhone 7 only recently came out. It seems that because 2017 is the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, Apple is getting into high gear to make the iPhone 8 extra special. Check out some of the latest rumours about Apple’s upcoming design refresh.

iPhone 8 Rumours

Possible Facial Recognition Technology

Apple wanted to get a fingerprint sensor integrated on the home button for iPhone 8, but that didn’t work out. According to a source, Apple has decided to try facial recognition instead. This, of course, is just a rumour. It could be true or it could be an idea that Apple is just pondering over. We’ll have to see if Apple includes this amazing technology in its upcoming iPhone.

iPhone 8

3D Touch

There has been a rumour that another feature Apple wants to include on the iPhone 8 is 3D Touch. Insiders say that the 3D Touch feature has been a difficult one for Apple to work out. According to this source, Apple is still trying to make 3D Touch work, which will affect the production schedule. There are also rumours that Apple has to pay more to get this technology in the iPhone 8 because it costs more for the company that manufactures this technology.

Front Facing Touch ID

One rendering of the iPhone 8 is showing it with an edge-to-edge OLED display that has the Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the front of the display instead of the back. The same rendering also shows that the rear camera has a vertical alignment. This leak is based on a previous leak that surfaced on SlashLeaks. Also included in this rendering is an infrared sensor, two battery units, and a stacked mainboard design. It’s important to note, though, that there are also rumours that the Touch ID will be onto the back. Do these two rumours cancel each other out? Maybe there won’t be a Touch ID at all and Apple is releasing these rumours themselves to mess with us all! That’s doubtful, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Wireless Charging

There is a rumour saying that the iPhone 8 will come with wireless charging technology. This rumour came about because there was a note published on CNBC saying that the next iPhone would have a wireless chip by Broadcom. This is a plausible rumour that makes sense. It would explain why Apple is also rumoured to be using all glass for their casing. So this one rumour could explain the other. We’ll have to wait and see if either rumour has any merit when Apple tells us what they are planning.

A State of the Art Camera

Apple is rumoured to be putting a game-changing camera on the new iPhone. It’s rumoured that Apple is getting new cameras for the front and the back of their new iPhone. The phones could possibly have dual cameras stacked on top of each other that would make for better photographs. The front-facing camera may also have two lenses that give an augmented reality feature as well as an option for portrait mode for selfie lovers.

When Does it Come Out?

Nothing is set in stone about the iPhone 8 yet. The features mentioned in this article are simply rumours of what Apple might decide to do for their 10th anniversary iPhone 8. If this iPhone includes the features mentioned, it might cost more than $1,000! So you might want to start saving up now.

The window for the launch of the iPhone 8 is still open as well. Some think that Apple will miss the traditional September 2017 launch time frame because of all the custom parts. One speculator thinks that in June, Apple will unveil the new iPhone at the Worldwide Developers Conference. Some have speculated that the iPhone 8 won’t be ready until 2018. We will have to be patient and realize that Apple will let us have a look at the iPhone just as soon as it’s ready and not a second before.

There have been a steady flow of rumours claiming that Apple will be releasing not one, not two, but three iPhones this year. The three rumoured releases include the iPhone 7S, the iPhone 7S Plus, and the iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 is also called the iPhone X. This some believe has to do with the 10th year anniversary of the iPhone which happens this year.

Since this is the 10th year anniversary of the iPhone, it only stands to reason that Apple will have something special planned to celebrate. This fall, Apple is expected to be releasing the newest iPhone: the iPhone 8. That should be a great way for both Apple and Apple users to celebrate. Here are some of the features you may be seeing with the new release.

iPhone 8: A Whole New iPhone

Rumour has it that the iPhone 8 is going to be completely redesigned with an edge-to edge display that removes the top and bottom bezels. These bezels are where the Touch ID feature and front-facing camera are housed in current iPhone models. iPhone will instead build these features right into the display. This will mean a sleeker than ever iPhone 8, with the display possibly being a flexible plastic OLED instead of an LCD.

Why the change to OLED? Well, OLED has benefits such as better colour accuracy and improved sharpness of images, among other benefits. Along with the OLED display we expect that there will be an increase in the price of the iPhone 8 because OLED displays are more expensive to use. One estimate says that the cost of an iPhone 8 with an OLED display may be more than £800. No matter what the display turns out to be, one thing will remain about the iPhone 8. It should still be water resistant. And it might possibly have an even higher IP68 water resistance rating. Changing to this display will give Apple the chance to introduce a thinner device which needs less power while also having a better display.

A Change in the Body

It also seems plausible that the iPhone 8 will have a glass body instead of the aluminium one that has been used lately. The glass may possibly be built around an aluminium or stainless steel frame. The last time Apple used a glass body was for the iPhone 4S. Since that phone, however, many advancements have been made. Now there are sturdier ways to make glass. So the new iPhone may be more resistant to breaking than the iPhones of the past.

iphone 8

Wireless Charging in iPhone 8

There is evidence that Apple is working on a way to use wireless charging for their new iPhone 8. If this is true, that explains why glass would be used for the body. Inductive charging will be required in order to charge through a magnetic coil. It would not work as well with an aluminium body. With long-range charging technology, users would have the benefit of not having to use a charging source. It has been speculated that Apple is working with a partner who has created a wireless charging source. But of course, none of that has been verified. Whatever way wireless charging ends up working for the new iPhone it seems that the wireless charging option will be in the higher-end iPhone 8 models.

Biometrics on the iPhone 8

Apple always wants to be on the cutting edge of technology. And because of this drive they may be working on including more biometrics in their newest offering. The new iPhone 8 may include features such as facial recognition or iris scanning. At this time it’s not certain what these new features will be used for, if they are included in the new iPhone at all. They may be used for Touch ID technology.

There have also been rumours that Apple is working with Lumentum to come up with 3D sensing technology. How this might be used in the iPhone is yet to be determined. Some possibilities for use of this technology includes augmented reality, facial recognition, or improvements in the camera. As always, Apple is in the game to beat all the competition for the most amazing features. With all the new features that are rumoured for the new iPhone 8, it’s sure to be the talk of the town. Even if they only have half of the features that are rumoured, it will still be THE phone to get for 2017.

2016 was quite a year for disruptive iPhone apps on the app store. What exactly does the term ‘disruptive’ mean when referring to app? Well, this would include apps that break all the rules of traditional apps. These apps open your mind to possibilities you didn’t know existed before. Without further ado, here are some of the most disruptive apps of 2016.

Disruptive iPhone Apps

Pokemon Go

If you will remember any one app from 2016, you will remember Pokemon Go. Pokemon Go was the app that had people wandering around catching pocket monsters in a world of augmented reality. This app brought augmented reality and mobile gaming to the forefront in the gaming world. The wildly popular app drew in users of all ages. The iPhone 7 Plus is adding a feature to their phone that may make fans of Pokemon Go especially excited: a dual camera. This camera will undoubtedly make augmented reality games like Pokemon Go even more popular and engaging.

Instagram

Instagram became one of the top apps of 2016. It gained over one million new users, and because of this, Instagram now boasts over 600 million users worldwide. Mimicking features from other popular apps, Instagram made a name for itself. Its incorporated video stories, taking the idea from Snapchat, making users fall in love with how well they incorporated these video stories into their app. Instagram also released live streaming capabilities like Periscope and Facebook. Instagram even gave users the abilities to like comments, adding another level of interactivity that was missing from the platform. No doubt, in 2017 Instagram will continue to be innovating and exciting to its users.

iphone 7

Apple Music

Another Top-3 app of 2016 that was disruptive has been around for a while: Apple Music. Along with a technique used by other streaming apps, Apple music drew in subscribers by offering exclusive content only available on Apple. Users who wanted access to music by some of their favourite artists had to subscribe to Apple. Over the course of 2016, Apple music has now grown to have over 20 million paying subscribers.

Going forward

2016

Augmented reality, popularised by Pokemon Go, will have an influence on future iPhone apps. There are already apps that use augmented reality. It is being used in travel, shopping, and real estate experiences. Even if Pokemon Go does not retain its popularity, augmented reality will no doubt continue to be popular in 2017. Social apps like Facebook, Periscope, Instagram, and Snapchat, which seemed to copy each other in 2016, have many features that made them disruptive. They will, no doubt, continue to come up with ways to draw in new users this year.

2017

Who knows which social app will become the most disruptive one in 2017? Streaming content will also continue to be a big draw in 2017. Most users would likely agree that they would like to find a way to get all the content they want without having to pay separate fees for each streaming account. Perhaps in 2017, there will be a solution to this issue with a bundle option so users don’t need to purchase separate subscriptions to stream their favourite digital content. 2017 is sure to bring about more disruptive iPhone apps. We will all have to wait and see what emerges to get us excited about apps this year.

You can also stream Netflix and other streaming services with the Siri remote. This is one of those devices that many Apple fans forget about, so it is a great idea for a gift.

Apple Watch: from £269

Is your Apple fan also a Pokemon Go fan? If so, they will be excited about the Apple Watch because they can now play Pokemon Go on Apple Watch. An Apple watch is compatible with Apple’s iPhone so this is a logical decision when considering gift ideas for an Apple fan because most Apple fans have an iPhone. Since many people have New Year’s health resolutions for the new year, the Apple Watch is a fantastic option. It has a fitness app to help monitor and motivate those who are health conscious.

Apple has different options for music lovers in their iPods. The iPod is a portable music player that has been around since 2001. The iPod line has the Shuffle, Nano, and Touch. The most common storage sizes are 8, 16, and 64 GB. The larger storage options can hold thousands of songs. Video games are also available for iPods, and they are downloadable from the iTunes Store. Buying Apple products refurbished means that they have had a previous owner. However, they have been factory reconditioned. This means that all the previous owner’s information has been erased. The new iPhone 7 came out just a few days ago and iPhone users everywhere are wondering if they need to replace their iPhone with the latest version. To keep their iPhone 6, or not to keep their iPhone 6 is the thought on their mind. After all, everyone knows that when Apple comes out with a new iPhone, it’s destined to be awesome.

If your iPhone is a 5S or later, you will definitely enjoy switching to a more updated iPhone like the iPhone 7. The iPhone 7 has so many added options that the iPhone 5S and earlier did not have. After all, Apple is always trying to make a better product with each generation of iPhone. What about if you have an iPhone 6? Would you really benefit from switching to an iPhone 7? Maybe. But then again, maybe not. Hear me out and make your decision after you’ve read this all the way through.

Phone to Phone Comparison: The iPhone 6 versus the iPhone 7

iPhone 6 vs iPhone 7

Don’t feel like you are missing out on the iPhone 7 experience and run out and buy it. The purchase of an iPhone is always an investment. Use this comparison of the iPhone 6 versus the iPhone 7 to help you decide whether you should keep your iPhone 6, or whether you should upgrade your iPhone 6 to the iPhone 7.

Specifications

Similarities

Let’s start with the screen size of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7. The iPhone 7 has to be bigger, right? Wrong. Between the two versions of iPhone, the screen sizes are the same. You can get either a 120 mm or 140 mm screen for either the iPhone 6 or 7.

Both have an aluminum body with a design that is visually similar.

On the iPhone 7, the antenna bands are in a different place than they were on the iPhone 6, but that’s probably not something most users are concerned about.

Differences

Now for some of the differences. The iPhone 6 has storage that is half of what the iPhone 7 is. In other words, you have twice as much storage capability with the iPhone 7. Are you the type who is always running out of storage? You could benefit from upgrading to the iPhone 7 from the iPhone 6.

Are you constantly taking pictures and want the best picture possible? Maybe you should consider the iPhone 7 as the camera has been upgraded. The iPhone 6 has a front camera that is 5MP and the rear camera is 12MP. The iPhone 7 is a 7MP on the front, but the rear is also 12MP. It also has a wide angle lens on the front and a telephoto and wide-angle lens on the Plus model. If you want an improved photo taking ability for the front camera, you might want to upgrade to the iPhone 7. However, if you don’t really think that you would care about the photo taking ability, you can stick with your iPhone 6.

One huge benefit of switching to the iPhone 7 is the fact that it is water proof for up to thirty minutes of submersion in water. That means if you drop your phone in a bath or sink full of water, it’s not a death sentence. For many people, that alone is enough reason to upgrade.

Pros and Cons of Getting the iPhone 7

Cons

Well, one big con of getting the iPhone 7 right now is availability. Who knows if you will be able to find the phone you want? The iPhone 7 has been selling out, so it may be difficult to get your hands on one of them. If you do find one, it may not be the best phone for you but you might feel pressured to buy the phone so you don’t miss out. This may mean that you end up spending a lot of money on a phone that wasn’t the best option for you.

Another con of buying the new Apple iPhone right now is the cost. If you just want the 32 GB version iPhone 7, which is the starting point in storage, it will set you back £599. The iPhone 7 with the largest storage has 256GB and will cost an eye-watering £799. These are just two negatives to consider when you are thinking about whether to dump your iPhone 6 for the iPhone 7.

Pros

Now on to the pros – which I know you were really waiting for anyway. One of the pros of getting the iPhone 7 is that you will be one of the first to own the newest tech gift from the Apple gods. The phone is undoubtedly an upgraded solution from Apple for those who want to have the latest and greatest and it will be awesome. Apple designs products with the user in mind, so you know it will be everything you want and more.

Another pro of purchasing the newest iPhone is that you will have a brand new phone that you know will be in good condition for a while. If your iPhone 6 has the dreaded screen crack or some other issue, you might want to seriously consider getting the iPhone 7. The money that you would be using to fix the crack in your iPhone could be going to purchase the new one.

Yet another good thing about getting the iPhone 7 is that you will definitely be able to improve your selfie game with the updated camera. Do you want to have the best selfies on social media? Consider getting the iPhone 7. The cameras on the iPhone 7 are head and shoulders better than even some of the best cameras around just a few years ago. You can Instagram and Facebook your way to happiness with the high calibre camera on the new iPhone 7.

Conclusions

Is Apple’s iPhone 7 worth the cost? Only you can answer that question. However, if you do decide to get an iPhone 7, you should definitely consider selling your iPhone 6 to give yourself some money to buy the newest phone. When you successfully sell your iPhone 6 you might be able to afford an iPhone 7 with more storage and more bells and whistles. Or you might decide your iPhone 6 is good enough for now.
